2019 Spring Workshop
Saturday, April 6th, 9:30 am - 4:30 pm

Workshop Format

Recorders and loud wind instrument groups will rotate among the coaches. String players (viols, baroque cellos, etc.) are invited to join the recorder ensembles

Coaches

We are excited to announce that our Spring Workshop this year will feature Glen Shannon, Rainer Beckmann and Rachel Begley as the coaches of the recorder/string groups. Liza Malamuth and Nathaniel Cox will coach the loud wind instruments

Session 1: 9:30-10:45
Session 2: 11:00-12:15
Break: 12:15-1:45
Session 3: 1:45-3:00
Session 4: 3:15-4:30

Please plan to arrive at 9:15. Please bring a music stand and a pencil.

Prices will go up by $5 for half day and by $10 for a full day registration starting March 17.

Rooms

The rooms for the workshop are located in the BASEMENT. To get to the workshop rooms, follow these directions (there will be signs posted):

  if entering from Mass. Ave.: enter by using the doorways to the right of Webster Bank; go straight in, past the security desk; about 15 yards further on the right, take the stairs down to the basement - the registration/check-in area will be at the bottom of the stairs.
  if entering from the rear parking lot: go straight in for about 10 yards, then take the stairs on your left down to the basement registration area.

Public transportation

Take the MBTA Red Line to the Porter Square stop. Upon leaving the station, don't cross any streets; walk south on Mass. Ave. (toward Harvard Square) for about 500 feet, and use the second 4-door entryway into University Hall.

Parking

Use the parking lot behind the University Hall building. The entrance to the parking lot is on Roseland Street. Take a parking ticket as you enter the lot; pay the security guard by the elevators before you leave the building.

You will be entitled to the posted discounted parking rate.

Food

Coffee, donuts and fresh fruits will be available before the workshop and during the breaks.
Lunch will not be served. There are many restaurants and fast-food establishments nearby, or you can bring your own (tables and seating are available).
