Event Calendar Policy

What events can I enter?

You can enter any event that you think would be of interest to Boston, Massachusetts, area recorder players and other members of the Greater Boston early music community. The event should take place within the New England states or Eastern New York State.

The events should be open to the public. Descriptions should include any charges or other requirements for attendance.

As always on a publicly accessible site, descriptions should avoid language or images that other people may find offensive. If the event is not avoiding such material, you may wish to indicate this in the description. For instance, you may wish to say "Bawdy songs of the 17th century", but not to include lyrics in your description that you wouldn't enjoy explaining to a 7 year old.

What category should my event be under?

We have set up the following categories:

Do events have to be approved by the calendar administrator?

To make it easy for people to use this calendar, we currently do not require an event to be approved before it goes up for the general public to see. However the calendar is closely monitored by an administrator, and anything obviously inappropriate will be promptly removed.

What if a calendar entry needs to be revised? What if I notice an entry that does not match the stated policies of the site? Who should I tell?

We appreciate your input and will be glad to help correct any problem. Please send an email to the calendar administrator.

I love this calendar -- how do I support it?

First, by using it to announce events.

Second, by joining the Boston Recorder Society, or by making a tax-deductible contribution. You can use either our convenient online form or our printer- friendly form.
